This project was for a client in the Del Mar area of San Diego who was seeking an overall enhancement to their entire yard. The grass areas weren’t looking good, the plantings were randomized and unaesthetic, and there was no kind of appeal or excitement in their landscaping.
The design included replacing the grass in (3) areas, restructuring all the plantings to create cohesiveness while adding a few pops of intrigue, and also adding in a few main focal points that included a new rose garden with (21) new rose shrubs and a new pergola on center with the pool. The new pops of intrigue included (4) new spiral boxwood topiary shrubs at the front entrance and on the front corners of the house, adding in new up-lit vines along their driveway wall, and planting a few key areas with multi-colored vibrant geraniums. Other plantings included yellow day lilies, red kangaroo paws, iceberg roses, Spanish lavender, and Myer’s asparagus to name just a few.
All in all, it was a significant and worthwhile upgrade to their entire large yard and the clients are very happy with the results. Evan Weisman was the contractor and did a great job. As with all projects, starting with a successful landscape design is key to a beautiful outcome. Reach out if you would like to discuss starting on your new landscape design plans.
